Funwheel X7 Long Range

I ordered the x7 long range back in 07/2025 I didn’t get it until 11/2025 the wait was harsh. When I got the board I went through some anxiety setting it up on float hub without knowing that it was already set up.

The tiree is really good for a stock tire. But after 500 miles or so it started showing wear- I got the flight fins goat tire.

The foot pads are a little hard and unforgiving- I’m waiting for a set of sticky feet wife foot pads to come in.

And I like footholds so I added flight fins.

Once I get the new footpads I think this board will be perfect.

Best stock board yet. Looking forward to getting a bag high voltage x10 in the future ice it has the hv has as much range as the x7 long range.

This is my first trip into the VESC realm and I a not disappointed. Initialization was no problem and the videos were very accurate and easy to follow.
The board itself is awesome. It arrived within the time specified at order confirmation. There were no issues with startup or activation and after initially recommended checkout worked perfectly. Quiet, smooth, amazing power.
The first time I did a jump mount I about freaked out as there was no crunch to tell me it had engaged! Except that it just took off sooo silky smooth with no hesitancy.
Obviously, I have a lot more miles to put on, different tunes to try, and more challenging conditions to put it to. But first impressions make this a very solid choice!

Still on first charge. 35 miles still have 37% battery left.

I bought my first Onewheel in 2015 and, since then, I’ve owned every single board Future Motion has produced (okay… except the Pint X). So yeah, you could say I’ve been pretty deep in the Onewheel rabbit hole for a while.

First off, huge love for Onewheels and the community. Some of the best people and best rides of my life have come from this sport. But I’ll be honest… there has also been HUGE frustration with Future Motion over the years. Anyone who’s been around long enough probably knows exactly what I’m talking about.

Meanwhile, in the background, I’ve always been intrigued by the VESC world. More power, more control, more freedom. But also… more menus, more settings, and a slight feeling that I might accidentally turn my board into a small electrical fire if I pressed the wrong button. So I admired from a distance.

Then came the Fungineers X7 Long Range.

A complete board, ready to ride, right out of the box, basically designed for people like me who are curious about VESC but also slightly terrified of the VESC tool.

And let me tell you…

The X7 calmed everything.

This board feels like the perfect blend of the XRC and the XL in terms of power and agility. It’s punchy when you want it, smooth when you don’t, and incredibly confidence-inspiring under your feet.

But the real kicker?

About 25-30% more range.

Suddenly those “maybe I should head home” moments turn into “eh… let’s see what’s over that hill.”

The ride feel is dialed. The torque is there when you ask for it. The stability is fantastic. And the overall experience just feels… refined.

Honestly, the only thing missing for someone like me is a “VESC for Dummies” user guide. Not because the board is hard to ride, it’s absolutely not…. but because I know there’s a whole world of customization in there and I’m still cautiously poking around like a caveman discovering fire.

One downside. The X7 LED lights are terrible! I saw they are coming out with or have brighter one available but have not seen them.

Other than that?

All I have to say is…

WOW.

The X7 Long Range might be the board that finally bridges the gap for riders like me — longtime Onewheel fans who love the ride, love the community, but have been waiting for something more open, more powerful, and more rider-friendly.
