Description
The Fungineers High Voltage Powertrain is a fully assembled, ready-to-install unit combining the Thor400 controller and a 32S1P 21700 Molicel P45B battery box. Both units come pre-assembled, sealed, and water resistant — no wiring, soldering, or internal modifications required. Simply mount the powertrain into any XR format rails, install your motor, bumpers, and footpads, and complete board setup using the included user guide.
Compatible with any XR format board including X7, X10, Thunder rails, and original or aftermarket XR rails, bumpers, and footpads.
Specifications
Battery Specifications: Molicel P45B 21700 32S1P configuration. Managed by an official VESC BMS for maximum safety and reliability. The battery box is fully sealed and water resistant. It is connected to the controller box and should not be separated.
Controller Specifications: Thor400 Controller rated at 400A absolute max. Housed in the Fungineers die-cast enclosure with integrated connectors and LEDs. The controller box is connected to the battery box, sealed, and water resistant. The two units should not be separated. Includes a 134V 5A fast charger — please do not purchase an additional charger.
Motor Connector: The powertrain uses the Superflux 9-pin connector system. The female connector is included and pre-installed on the controller box. It features 3x 4mm banana connectors and a 6-pin JST GH 1.25mm connector, rated for over 100A continuous current and 500V. No additional connector purchase is needed.
Harness: The wiring harness is extendable to accommodate BTG and other rail size variants.
Assembly
Mount the powertrain to any XR format rails, install the Superflux motor, attach footpads and bumpers, and configure the motor and IMU settings using the provided user guide.
Warranty
This product comes with a one year warranty. Due to the nature of high voltage systems, the controller and battery boxes must not be opened without professional guidance. Customers retain full right to repair and install the unit in their preferred rails. If you intend to open either enclosure for any reason, please contact us beforehand so we can ensure the process is done safely and your warranty remains valid.
Please note that water or moisture ingress is not covered under warranty. These units are water resistant, not waterproof. Riding in wet or adverse conditions is done at your own risk — please take appropriate precautions to protect your powertrain from exposure.

Rails not included.
Standard Bang bumpers are not compatible. Fungineers bumpers or Torque Bang bumpers (for torque box) are required.
This system uses metric M5 screws. Imperial 10-32 screws are not compatible — using mismatched screws from other vendors may damage threads.

I had high expectations for the Thor 400 high-voltage powertrain, but the quality I received was disappointing. The torque box lid arrived cracked, the battery warranty moisture indicator was already triggered red, I had concerns with the gasket, and the motor was simply taped to the powertrain during shipping instead of being packaged separately.
I expected this to be an easy, convenient drop-in powertrain—install it and ride. Instead, it became weeks of documenting issues, waiting on support, and uncertainty.
The biggest frustration was customer support. It took over two weeks just to begin addressing my concerns, and communication was lacking. I understand delays happen, but keeping customers informed goes a long way. Throughout the process, I was also made to feel as though I was being overly nitpicky for raising concerns about the condition of a premium-priced product.
The only resolution I was offered was to send the powertrain back and order another one, with the understanding that I should expect the same level of quality. Instead, I accepted a refund and decided to go in a different direction.
I documented everything and gave Fungineers every opportunity to make it right before leaving this review. I've since decided to support Indy Speed Control, who have consistently provided excellent service.
Based on my experience, don't purchase this expecting a premium product. It will arrive as it arrives, and you'll have to decide whether that level of quality is acceptable to you.
This thing shreds. Compared to the xr, it's in a whole other league. I'd recommend it to anyone. Rides like a beast and has way more power than you'll ever need!
